Frequently Asked Questions

Who are we?

The Eagle’s Cheer is a program based on fun, hard work, and family/friendship! We are here to help you build and develop your skills as a cheerleader. We are a non-profit, volunteer-run youth program.

How do I join the squad?

Registration is a two step process, as you will need to register with the league and with the Eagles.

Is prior cheer experience required?

No, not at all! Whether you have zero cheer experience or many years of experience we are here to help coach you and help you grow.

Is there a deadline to register for cheer?

Registration needs to be complete no later than July 1, 2023, to guarantee your child’s uniform and other custom items will arrive on time. However, registration will remain open until July 25, 2023.

Where and when do you practice?

Practices are held at Hodge Park, which is located on 96th street, off I-435N. Once we get into the colder months practice will be moved indoors at one of our local Middle Schools.

Cheer Coaches will set the practice schedule for their team so days and times may vary.  Practices may also start and end earlier as the season progresses, when daylight hours are lost.  For the 2024 season, cheer plans to practice 2 times a week.

Any practice changes and updates will be communicated through the TeamSnap App.

Important to Note:  KCFC League does allow walk through practices to be completed under the heat rule (tempature is 95 degrees or above OR if the heat index is 105 degrees or above)

What is the cost and what does it cover?

The Fees cover the cost of all cheer items/equipment needed for season.

League Registration fees cover items such as insurance, game fields and administration. Eagle’s fees cover uniforms, equipment, and practice fields.

If you are a returning athlete please reach out to Coach Ryann about your fees.

Families in need of financial assistance can may complete a scholarship application

Do you offer scholarships?

Scholarships are available for families in need of financial assistance. The 2024 scholarship application deadline is July 12, 2024.

When and where will my child cheer?

Games are typically played on Saturdays throughout the Fall season.  The schedule will be released late August.  Once the cheer coaches recieve the schedule we will then get the cheerleaders assigned to their games.

Tackle games are played in the Northland area to include Platte County High School, Liberty North High School, Smithville High School, and Winnetonka High School.  Tackle game can also be held at the Savannah Youth Sports Complex in Savannah, MO, and at Heritage Park in Olathe, Kansas. Flag Football participates in the Platte County Youth Football League which play all their games at Platte Ridge Park.

Cheer squads will rotate between teams and grade levels to try and cheer for at least one game for each team this season.  In the 2022 season, between flag and tackle, there were over a dozen teams playing football on Saturday.

Please note, if you have a cheer and a football child in the 2023 season, it is not a guarantee that your child who is participating in cheer will get to cheer at your child's football game each week.

What gear do I need for cheer?

The fees that you pay will cover the cheer items you are going to need. The following items will be given to you/covered in your fees:

Is my child guaranteed a spot on the squad?
